Agriculture

Agriculture, the main occupation of the tribals in Manipur and Northeast and contributes a major share to the domestic product. It provides employment to about 52.19% of the total workers in Manipur. We organize various development programmes to uplift and promote the socio-economic status of the farmers in particular and the people in general.

Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Cultivation of MAP mainly lemongrass and citronella started in 2008. This helps the farmers to subsist their families. In contrary to the uneconomic practices of Jhuming Cultivation and the resulting ecological imbalances, we have been actively involved in generating awareness on alternative agricultural practices.

PPMF plays a crucial role of contribution in the field of farming in the North Eastern part of India and plays a major role in popularizing organic farming and production of essential oils.

Agriculture and Horticulture Development Programme: This programme included –cultivation of vegetables, plants, fruits, maintaining greenhouses, etc. The farmers were trained at the best for productive way of cultivation like Turmeric, Ginger, Aromatic Plants, King Chilli and other locally available fruits and vegetables.
